Inconsistent communication and unresponsive mentor led to a poor program experience.
“The mentor never responded to my emails”
Reviews show consistent praise for HCIโs curriculum, videos, transcripts and skill-lab format, with many students reporting concrete learning and increased coaching confidence. At the same time, a subset of reviewers report issues with mentor responsiveness, unclear intake communication, rigid module release pacing, and concerns about refunds or payments. If you consider HCI, verify enrollment and withdrawal policies in writing, ask about live mentoring availability, and confirm pacing (weekly releases vs. accelerated access) to match your schedule. These steps help align expectations with the commonly reported strengths and recurring concerns in the reviews.

I had applied for a certificate course with the Health Coaching Institute, but was not satisfied with my experience. There was inconsistent communication about my application and several changes to program dates and coach availability. This caused me to seek out another option that was provided by another organization. All I can say is that I tried a mentorship program with the Health Coach Institute and had the worst experience ever. The mentor never responded to my emails and was inconsistent when explaining things. I wasted a lot of money on a program that did not help me progress. I donโt want anyone to go through my experience, resist the company!
